You can drive a 125cc motorcycle with a Class B license!

With the Regulation on Amendments to the Highway Traffic Regulation published in the Official Gazette, those with a Class B driving license will be able to use motorcycles up to 125 cc under certain conditions.
According to the regulation, those with a class B and above driver's license will be able to use motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 125 cc, called Class A1, without paying a fee or changing their driver's license. So, what will be the requirements for driving a motorcycle under 125 cc with a Class B license?

The regulation is as follows:

According to the "Regulation on Amendments to the Highway Traffic Regulation", it will be required to have a valid Class B driver's license for at least 2 years in terms of experience, to meet the necessary health conditions and not to have had your driver's license temporarily or permanently revoked within 5 years.

If you complete the specified driving training course and pass the practical exam, and the Class A1 certificate issued by the Ministry of National Education is recorded in the driver's license system records, motorcycles that can be used with a Class A1 driver's license within the borders of Turkey, except for motorcycles used in all kinds of commercial activities, will be able to be driven.

THE DRIVING LICENSE MUST NOT HAVE BEEN CONFISCATED IN THE LAST 5 YEARS
Another criterion is that the driver's license should not have been revoked temporarily or permanently within five years from the application date pursuant to Law No. 2918.

DRIVING TEST WILL BE TAKEN
Candidates who will participate in the driving test will have the right to an A1 class driver's license if they are successful. However, there will be no processing or change in the license. The A1 class driver's license usage right will be integrated into the General Directorate of Security system.

The exams are expected to start in March after the necessary infrastructure work is completed.

ARE 125 CC MOTORCYCLES WITH OR WITHOUT GEARS?
125 CC motorcycles can have both geared and gearless (automatic) transmissions. In models generally known as scooters, a system called CVT is used instead of a gear system. In this way, the user can use the vehicle without having to shift gears. There are also vehicles with up to 5-speed transmissions among 125 CC motorcycles.
