Make Yourself Easily Visible
Make yourself more visible, especially at night, by wearing bright, reflective clothing, positioning yourself where other drivers can see you, signaling before turning or changing lanes, and using your horn when necessary.
Don’t Drink and Drive
Alcohol and driving are incompatible. Even one drink of alcohol can limit your ability to respond to changing conditions, and your reaction time increases with each drink. Don’t drive after drinking alcohol, and don’t allow your friends to drive after drinking alcohol.
Keep Your Motorcycle in Safe Condition
It is important to ensure that your motorcycle is properly maintained and in safe riding condition. Inspect your motorcycle before each ride and perform all recommended maintenance. Never exceed the load limits and do not modify your motorcycle or install accessories that would make it unsafe
If You Are Involved in an Accident
Personal safety is your top priority.
If you or someone else is injured, take the time to assess the severity of the injury and whether it is safe to continue riding.
Call for emergency assistance if necessary. If another person or another vehicle is involved in the accident, comply with all applicable laws and regulations. When you decide to continue riding, first assess the condition of the motorcycle.
To increase your safety, follow the instructions below;
- Perform all routine and regular checks specified in this manual.
- Stop the engine and remove sparks and flames before refueling.
- Do not run the engine in enclosed or partially enclosed areas. Carbon monoxide in exhaust gases is poisonous and can kill you.
Always Wear a Helmet
This is a proven fact. Helmets and protective clothing significantly reduce the number and severity of head injuries and other injuries. So always wear an approved motorcycle helmet and protective gear.
Take Time to Learn and Practice
Always pay attention to other vehicles around you and don't assume other drivers can see you. Be prepared to stop quickly and make sudden maneuvers
